Use a folder name that means something to you.
Create one recipe folder, then a small number of categories that match how you cook: desserts, baking, dinner, and occasions are a possible start. A file can stay in its main category while a simple note points you to it for a holiday menu. You do not need multiple copies of the same paid PDF for every event.
Use filenames that let you recognize the dish and source. “Mini-lemon-cheesecakes-Janet-Recipes.pdf” is easier to identify later than a generic download number. Renaming a local copy does not change the contents or the license of the file.
Keep a source record, not just a screenshot.
For each purchase, note the recipe title, the Etsy listing link, the purchase date, and where you stored the file. Keep order information private. A listing screenshot can help you remember what was advertised, but it is not the purchased recipe and should not be mistaken for the cooking instructions.
When you open a new download, check that the title and contents match what you ordered. If something is wrong, use the Etsy order contact route instead of guessing which directions were intended.
Separate the original from your own notes.
Keep the original PDF unchanged and put your personal observations in a separate note. Record what you actually tried, the equipment you used, and any changes you made. Do not present an untested modification as part of the original recipe.
A note can be as simple as “check the pan size before next time” or “served at the family lunch.” Your notes help you choose future projects without rewriting or redistributing the paid file.
Understand what the website saves.
The hearts on this website save recipe identifiers in this browser only. They do not store purchased PDFs, prove you bought a recipe, or synchronize across devices. Clearing your browser data can remove the saved list while leaving your downloaded files untouched.
For durable records, use your own folders and backups in line with the product’s license. Do not share a folder of paid recipe files publicly. Visit Privacy choices to clear this site’s saved list, or digital download help when you need to locate an Etsy purchase.
